Nagesh Kumar D

Bio

D. Nagesh Kumar received the Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India, in 1992. He was a Boyscast Fellow with the Utah Water Research Laboratory, Utah State University, Logan, UT, USA, in 1999. He has been a Professor with the Department of Civil Engineering, IISc, since May 2002. He is also the Chairman, Centre for Earth Sciences, IISc. Earlier, he was with the IIT, Kharagpur, India, and National Remote Sensing Centre, Hyderabad, India. His research interests include climate hydrology, climate change, water resource systems, ANN, evolutionary algorithms, fuzzy logic, MCDM, and remote sensing and GIS applications in water resource engineering. He is the coauthor of two text books entitled Multicriterion Analysis in Engineering and Management (PHI) and Floods in a Changing Climate: Hydrologic Modeling (Cambridge University Press). He has published more than 160 papers including 88 in peer reviewed journals.
