Philippe Terrier studied biology and biomedical engineering at University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. He obtained a Ph. D in 2003 in the departement of human physiology. He developped an innovative method to study human locomotion by using high-accuracy GPS. Since 2007, he is head of the movement analysis unit at the Research Institute for Rehabilitation (IRR) situated in the clinique romande de réadaptation. His current research interest is non-conventional gait analysis based on enhanced signal processing.
