Alexey Larionov

Initially educated as a clinical oncologist in Russia I switched to experimental oncology after completion of my PhD. For about 10 years I worked as a postdoc in Edinburgh University studying endocrine treatment and resistance in breast cancer. Working with data-rich methods (qPCR, microarrays, NGS) I became interested in data analysis. After completion of MSc in Applied Bioinformatics (2012, Cranfield University, UK) I switched to bioinformatics. Currently I work as a bioinformatician in Cambridge University, focusing on NGS data analysis and heritable predisposition to cancer.

Along with the research I occasionally was involved in teaching (supervision, lecturing and marking), and I am a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (UK).
