Tim Reeskens (1982) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology at the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Tilburg University (Netherlands). Previously, he held Postdoctoral Research positions at the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), and at the Centre for Sociological Research at the University of Leuven (Belgium). Tim holds an M.A. in Sociology (University of Leuven, 2005), an M.A. in Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences (Universities of Brussels and Leuven, 2006), and a Ph.D. in Social Sciences (University of Leuven, 2009) on a dissertation on the relationship between ethnocultural diversity and social cohesion across European societies. His main research interests are the comparative study of political and social attitudes, with a particular focus on social capital and generalized trust, national identity, and attitudes towards the welfare state. His research has been published in academic journals like European Sociological Review, Comparative Political Studies, International Journal of Comparative Sociology, Journal of European Social Policy, and Psychological Science.
