Human behavior causes many environmental issues but is also the means to solve those issues more readily. I explore human behavior and behavior change in the context of the environment, conservation, and natural resources. My research focuses on: (a) norms, values, and institutions, (b) cognitive, social, and policy processes, and (c) individuals and groups. I use theories from social psychology and other social and behavioral sciences alongside survey research methods, structural equation modeling, experimental designs, and spatial analyses to understand the nature and causes of behavior and develop strategies that effectively change behavior.
