Yalemzewod Gelaw


Name: Yalemzewod Assefa Gelaw Currently, I am a PhD student in the University of Queensland, Australia. I graduated from Debub University with a Bachelor degree in Environmental Health in 2006 and received a master degree public health in epidemiology and biostatics speciality in 2013 at the University of Gondar. Areas of expertise include infectious disease research, spatial epidemiology, spatial ecology spatiotemporal modelling epidemiology, biostatistics and public health. My professional experience before joining UQ. Lecturer, 09/2014 to 06/2016 University of Gondar – Gondar, Ethiopia Three years’ experience on providing lectures on basic bio-statistics, health research methodology and data management and software ; Supervising medical and health science students in their community health team training program attachments; Advising research thesis works for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, Conducting research and grant projects working with a team and as an internal examiner for under/postgraduate students during their thesis defences. Environmental Health Officer, 09/2007 to 06/2011 Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Amhara Regional Health Bureau A four years’ experience of healthcare services by assigning as an environmental health officer, head of a health centre and program officer.
