Current research focuses on i) understanding the direct and cumulative impacts on coastal ecosystems of human activities and extreme climatic events, ii) developing tools to assess risks in the coastal areas and iii) supporting effective environmental decision-making. A unifying theme of my research is the development and application of validated indicators of climatic hazards and anthropogenic impact. Recent applications include integrated monitoring and adaptation environment and societies.
