I am a political scientist and political sociologist and based at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. I am interested in the comparative politics of population ageing and migration, comparative political behaviour, comparative welfare state research and electoral administration. I use both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
I am a full professor of empirical political science and responsible for teaching methods. I also direct the priority research area "Transformation of Contemporary Societies".
